Twice every year, in the last week of May, and again in the 2nd week of July is “Manhatten-henge” – it is where the sun lines up perfectly with the street grid in New York City, and for a period of about 2 minutes, and only twice each year, as the sun sets, it illuminates the streets with a view that is something quite unique.  I happened to be in NYC for the July event, ready, with camera, and was positioned at a great spot. Unfortunately, the clouds did not fully cooperate, but were “close”  to what they would have been, if the clouds had cooperated.
